24 Isme Azam with audio
The word “Ism e Azam” is a combination of two words , i.e Ism (Name) and Azam (Great) . So Ism e Azam means the Great Names of Allah SWT or the great Kilamat (sentences) by which all supplications are accepted.
There are three kinds of Ahadith which mentions Isme Azam directly or indirectly.
- Ahadith ,where Allah’s(سبحانه و تعالي) last prophet (صلي الله عليه وآله وبارك وسلم) has used the word Isme Azam or the greatest name of Allah (سبحانه و تعالي).
- Ahadith ,where Allah’s(سبحانه و تعالي) last prophet (صلي الله عليه وآله وبارك وسلم) has NOT mentioned the word Isme Azam but has said that supplication is accepted with some particular words or sentences. These are are also included in Isme Azam
- There are some Ahadith where only some sentenced are mentioned which has the meaning of the greatest names of Allah((سبحانه و تعالي). Thease are included in Isme Azam.
We know about Isme Azam from Hadith. In hadith there are two categories of Isme Azam. some Isme Azam are verses of Quran and some are not verses of Quran.
- Isme Azam ,that are from the verses of Quran and
- Isme Azam that are words from Hadith. Both categories are mentioned below.

Isme Azam #1
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ (٢) ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ (٣) مَـٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ (٤) إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ (٥) ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٲطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ (٦) صِرَٲطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
Transliteration : Bismillaahir Rahmaanir
Raheem Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil
‘aalameen Ar-Rahmaanir-Raheem Maaliki
Yawmid-Deen Iyyaaka na’budu wa
lyyaaka nasta’een Ihdinas-SiraatalMustaqeem Siraatal-lazeena an’amta
‘alaihim ghayril-maghdoobi ‘alaihim wa
lad-daaalleen.
Translation : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, (2) The Beneficent, the Merciful. (3) Owner of the Day of Judgment, (4) Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help. (5) Show us the straight path, (6) The path of those whom Thou hast favoured. Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray. Isme Azam #2
الٓمّٓ ۚ ﴿1﴾ اللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۙ الۡحَىُّ الۡقَيُّوۡمُؕ
Transliteration : Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) Allaho Laa Ilaha Illah howal Hayyul Qayyum.(2) . [Quran 3: 1 & 3:2]
Translation : Alif. Lam. Mim. (1) Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal.(2) . [Quran 3: 1 & 3:2] [ Abu-Dawud 1496 , Tirimzi 3478 , Ibn Majah 3855]

وَاِلٰهُكُمۡ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ ۚ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الرَّحۡمٰنُ الرَّحِيۡمُ
Translation : And the God of you all is one God; there is no God but Him, , the Beneficent, the Merciful. (Quran 2:163) (Wa ilahukum Ilahoon Wahid,Laa ilaha illa huwar Rehmanir Raheem) [Quran 2: 163] [ Abu-Dawud 1496 , Tirimzi 3478 , Ibn Majah 3855]

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Translation : Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous [Tabrani] [Masnad Ahmad ,Hadith 26373].[Quran 2: 255]
Isme Azam #5
وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْمًا
Translation : And faces humble themselves before the Living, the Eternal. And he who beareth (a burden of) wrongdoing is indeed a failure (on that Day). [Quran 20:111] [Mustadrak Hakim 684/1]
Isme Azam #6
لَّاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡتَ سُبۡحٰنَكَ اِنِّىۡ كُنۡتُ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ
Translation
Translation : “There is no god but Thou: Glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!” [Quran 21:87] [Mastadrak Hakim ,Hadith 1865]
Isme Azam #7
قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Translation : Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O Allah! Lord over all authorities! You give authority to whoever You please and remove it from who You please; You honour whoever You please and disgrace who You please—all good is in Your Hands. Surely You ˹alone˺ are Most Capable of everything . [Quran 3:26] [Tabrani]

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡتَنظُرۡ نَفۡسٌ۬ مَّا قَدَّمَتۡ لِغَدٍ۬ۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ (١٨) وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ نَسُواْ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَٮٰهُمۡ أَنفُسَہُمۡۚ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ (١٩) لَا يَسۡتَوِىٓ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۚ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلۡفَآٮِٕزُونَ (٢٠) لَوۡ أَنزَلۡنَا هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٍ۬ لَّرَأَيۡتَهُ ۥ خَـٰشِعً۬ا مُّتَصَدِّعً۬ا مِّنۡ خَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَتِلۡكَ ٱلۡأَمۡثَـٰلُ نَضۡرِبُہَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (٢١) هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ (٢٢) هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡقُدُّوسُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُ ٱلۡمُهَيۡمِنُ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡجَبَّارُ ٱلۡمُتَڪَبِّرُۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشۡرِڪُونَ (٢٣) هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُ ٱلۡبَارِئُ ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُۖ لَهُ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ ۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ (٢٤)

Isme Azam #9
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيکَ لَهُ, لَهُ الْمُلْکُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَی کُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَدِيرٌ , سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
Translation : “There is none worthy of worship except ALLAH. He is alone and has no partner. To Him belongs the Kingdom and for HIM is all praise and HE has power over everything.”
“Glory be to ALLAH and praise to ALLAH and there is none worthy of worship but ALLAH, and ALLAH is the Greatest. And there is no might or power except with ALLAH, the Exalted, the Great One.” [Saheeh Bokhari Kitab-al-Thajjud 1103 , Sunan Ibn-Majah,Vol 3,Hadith 758]
Note: According to Hadith ,when a person wakes up at night and say these words and then ask for forgiveness and any supplication , then it is accepted .
Isme Azam #10
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيکَ لَهُ الْعَلِیُّ الْعَظِیمُ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيکَ لَهُ الْحَلِیمُ الْکَرِیمُ
Translation : There is no god but God, the One, who has no partner, the Most High, the Great, and there is no god but God, the One, the Most Merciful , There is no god but God, the One, He has no partner, the Forbearing, the Generous . [Masnaf ibn-shayba ,Hadith number 29930]
Isme Azam #11
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ، الله أكبر
10 times each [سنن نسائي 1300]
Translation : Subhanallah (in Arabic: سبحان الله) meaning “Glory to Allah”. Alhamdulillah (in Arabic: ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ) meaning “Praise be to Allah”. , Allahu Akbar (Allah is the greatest) Read it 10 times each [Sunan Nisai Hadith 1300]
Note : These words can be read after Tashahhud and then make duas in Salah after Tashahhud.
Isme Azam #12
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ، ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ، ابْنُ أَمَتِكَ، نَاصِيَتِي بِيَدِكَ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤُكَ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ، أَوِ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ، أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي، وَجَلَاءَ حُزْنِي، وَذَهَابَ هَمِّي
Translation : “O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your handmaid, my forelock is in Your hand (i.e. You have total control over me), Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just.” I ask You by every name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur’an the life of my heart and the light of my bosom, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety. [Ahmad 3712]
Isme Azam #13
اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَسْأَلُـكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَـمْدُ لا إِلـهَ إِلاّ أَنْـتَ وَحْـدَكَ لا شَـريكَ لَـكَ ، الْمَنّـانُ ، الْحَنَّانُ ، يا بَديـعَ السَّمواتِ وَالأَرْضِ يا ذَا لْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ، يا حَـيُّ يا قَـيّومُ
وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا تَقُولُ لَهُ كنْ فَيَكُونُ
Translation : O Allah, I ask Thee by virtue of the fact that praise is due to Thee, there is no deity but Thou, You are Al-Mannan (المنان) ,the Al-Hannan (الحَنَّانُ), the Originator of the Heavens and the earth, O Lord of Majesty and Splendour, O Living One, O Eternal One.I am asking only you And if you want a thing, you only say to it: Be, and it is.
Note: The Mannan (المَنَّانُ) is the one who is tremendous in giving.Who showest favour and beneficence.Al-Hannan (الحَنَّانُ) is the one who is merciful to His servants. [ Abu Dawud , Ibn Majah] and [Al-Masdar Shifa-Al-Alil Ibn qayyim ] and [Ibn Shaiba ]
Isme Azam #14
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بأَنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، الْأَحَدُ ، الصَّمَدُ ، الَّذِي لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
Translation : O Allah, I ask Thee, I bear witness that there is no god but Thou, the One, He to Whom men repair, Who has not begotten, and has not been begotten, and to Whom no one is equal . أبو داود (1493)، والترمذي (3475) Abu Dawud Hadith 1493, Tirmidhi Hadith 3475
Isme Azam #15
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِجَمِيعِ أَسْمَائِكَ الْحُسْنَى كُلِّهَا , مَا عَلِمْنَا مِنْهَا وَمَا لَمْ نَعْلَمْ , وَأَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ الأَعْظَمِ , الْكَبِيرِ الأَكْبَرِ , الَّذِي مَنْ دَعَاكَ بِهِ أَجَبْتَهُ , وَمَنْ سَأَلَكَ بِهِ أَعْطَيْتَهُ
Translation : O Allah, I ask you by all of your beautiful names, what we know of them and what we do not know , And I ask you by your great name, the greatest of the greatest names ,by the one who called You with it, You answered, and whoever asked You for it, You gave it. [Hadith from Al-Bayhaqi ] أخْرَجَ البَيْهَقِيُّ
Isme Azam #16
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْعُوکَ اللَّهَ وَأَدْعُوکَ الرَّحْمَنَ وَأَدْعُوکَ الْبَرَّ الرَّحِيمَ وَأَدْعُوکَ بِأَسْمَائِکَ الْحُسْنَی کُلِّهَا مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ (أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَتَرْحَمَنِي)
Transliteration : Allahumma inni Adookallaha waadookar Rahhmana , waadookal Barrar Raheem , waadooka Bee Ismaa ikal Husna kulli haa maa Alimta minha wamaa lum Aalam ( An taghfirli watar Harmni )
Translation : O Allah, I call upon Allah, and I call upon You, Ar-Rahman (the Most Gracious), and I call upon You, Al-Barr Ar-Rahim (The Most Kind, the Most Merciful), and I call upon You by all Your beautiful Names, those that I know and those that I do not know, (asking) that [You forgive me and have mercy on me.’] [Sunan Ibn Majah ,Hadith 3857]

Isme Azam #17
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الطَّاهِرِ الطَّيِّبِ الْمُبَارَكِ الْأَحَبِّ إِلَيْكَ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيتَ بِهِ أَجَبْتَ وَإِذَا سُئِلْتَ بِهِ أَعْطَيْتَ وَإِذَا اسْتُرْحِمْتَ بِهِ رَحِمْتَ وَإِذَا اسْتُفْرِجَتَ بِهِ فَرَّجْتَ
Translation : O Allah! I ask You by Your pure, good and blessed Name which is most beloved by You, which if You are called thereby You answer, and if You as asked thereby You give, if You are asked for mercy thereby You bestow mercy, and if You are asked for relief (from distress) thereby You grant relief. Ibn Majah 3859

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الأَعْظَمِ ، وَرِضْوَانِكَ الأَكْبَرِ
Translation : O Allah, I ask You in Your greatest name and Your greatest pleasure. [Majam Al-Kabeer Tabrani Hadith 2890 ] 2890 المعجم الكبير للطبراني
Isme Azam #19
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي، وَأَنْتَ تَهْدِينِي ، وَأَنْتَ تُطْعِمُنِي ، وَأَنْتَ تَسْقِينِي ، وَأَنْتَ تُمِيتُنِي ، وَأَنْتَ تُحْيِينِي
Read it 7 times in the morning and 7 times in the evening or when makng dua.
Translation : O Allah , You have created me , and you have guided me , and you have fed me and You have given me water and You will take my life and You will bring me back to life .

یا ارحم الراحمین
(3 times at least)
Translation : Allah , The most merciful . [Kanzul Amal Hadith 3213]
After Praising Allah , Salat Ala Nabi and Ismae Azam ,then you can start asking your desires from Allah (swt) here with the firm belief of their acceptance and with full concentration.
Address Allah (swt) using His names یاذا الجلال or يا حي يا قيوم or يا اللَّهُ again and again . Call Him like a person who is drowning in sea and is crying desperately for help

How to start supplication with Isme Azam
Before starting any dua we should remember to say the following.
- Bismillahir Rehman ir Raheem.
- Praise of Allah (سبحانه و تعالي) e.g Alhamdulillah ay Rabbil Alameen
- Salawat for Prophet Muhammad ( صلي الله عليه وآله وبارك وسلم) in the beginning and in the end.
