Hadith Number: 3830
Ali bin Muhammad narrated to us in the year 231 AH. Waki’ narrated to us in the year 195 AH. He said: Sufyan narrated to us in the gathering of Al-A’mash 50 years ago. Amr bin Murrah Al-Jamali narrated to us during the time of Khalid, from Abdullah bin Al-Harith Al-Mukattib, from Taliq bin Qais Al-Hanafi, from Ibn Abbas (RA), that:
The Prophet ﷺ used to say in his supplication:
*”O Lord, help me and do not help against me. Grant me victory and do not grant victory over me. Plan for me and do not plan against me. Guide me and make guidance easy for me. Grant me victory over those who oppress me.
O Lord, make me among those who are greatly grateful to You, who remember You abundantly, who fear You, who obey You, who humble themselves before You, and who turn to You in repentance.
O Lord, accept my repentance, cleanse my sins, answer my supplication, guide my heart, make my speech correct, establish my proof, and remove any malice from my heart.”*
Abu Al-Hasan Al-Tanafisi said:
“I asked Waki’: ‘Should I say this in the Qunoot of Witr?’ He replied: ‘Yes.'”
Hazrat Ibraheem said that say that there are no fixed words to say in dua qunoot for Witr salah . But dua qunoot consists of dua (supplication) and istighfar ( asking forgiveness ) ” [ Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah , Hadith 6966]
