Arabian Peninsula is forbidden for Non Muslim
There are certain places in the Islamic world , where only Muslims are to allowed to stay. When Islam spread over Arabia, most of the Non Muslims reverted to Islam. There had been few Non Muslims left in the Arabian Peninsula. It is the will of Allah subhanahu’s dearest Prophet Muhammad (Salallaho alayhay wa alehe wa barik wa sallam) that only Muslims stay in the Arabian peninsula. Some scholars have made their own “new boundaries” of Arabian Peninsual but they don’t have any proof from Quran and Hadith to support their claim. Infect a primary school student can easily tell you what is the meaning of “Arabian Peninsula”.
Following are the Ahadith which shows the details about this issue with solid proof.
The following hadith of Sahih Bokhari tells us two important things.
- Allah subhanahu’s dearest Prophet Muhammad (Salallaho alayhay wa alehe wbarik wa sallam) last will was to expell Non-Muslims from Arabian Peninsula.
- Famous Authentic narrator “al-Mughira bin ‘Abdur Rahman” describes the boundaries of Arabian peninsula (which should seem obvious just by the word “peninsula”)
صحيح البخاري: كِتَابُ الجِهَادِ وَالسِّيَرِ (بَابٌ: هَلْ يُسْتَشْفَعُ إِلَى أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ وَمُعَامَلَتِهِمْ؟)حکم : أحاديث صحيح البخاريّ كلّها صحيحة 3053.
حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَوْمُ الخَمِيسِ وَمَا يَوْمُ الخَمِيسِ؟ ثُمَّ بَكَى حَتَّى خَضَبَ دَمْعُهُ الحَصْبَاءَ، فَقَالَ: اشْتَدَّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَعُهُ يَوْمَ الخَمِيسِ، فَقَالَ: «ائْتُونِي بِكِتَابٍ أَكْتُبْ لَكُمْ كِتَابًا لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا»، فَتَنَازَعُوا، وَلاَ يَنْبَغِي عِنْدَ نَبِيٍّ تَنَازُعٌ، فَقَالُوا: هَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «دَعُونِي، فَالَّذِي أَنَا فِيهِ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا تَدْعُونِي إِلَيْهِ»، وَأَوْصَى عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ بِثَلاَثٍ: «أَخْرِجُوا المُشْرِكِينَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ العَرَبِ، وَأَجِيزُوا الوَفْدَ بِنَحْوِ مَا كُنْتُ أُجِيزُهُمْ»، وَنَسِيتُ الثَّالِثَةَ، وَقَالَ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، سَأَلْتُ المُغِيرَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ جَزِيرَةِ العَرَبِ: فَقَالَ مَكَّةُ، وَالمَدِينَةُ، وَاليَمَامَةُ، وَاليَمَنُ، وَقَالَ يَعْقُوبُ وَالعَرْجُ أَوَّلُ تِهَامَةَ

حضرت ابن عباس ؓسے روایت ہے، انھوں نے کہا: جمعرات کا دن !کیا ہے جمعرات کا دن! اس کے بعد وہ اس قدر روئے کہ آنسوؤں سے زمین کی کنکریاں تر ہوگئیں۔ پھر کہنے لگے کہ جمعرات کے دن رسول اللہ ﷺ کی بیماری زیادہ ہو گئی تو آپ نے فرمایا: ’’میرے پاس لکھنے کے لیے کچھ لاؤ تاکہ میں تمھیں ایک تحریر لکھوا دوں، تم اس کے بعد ہر گز گمراہ نہیں ہو گے۔‘‘ لیکن لوگوں نے اختلاف کیا اور نبی کے پاس جھگڑنا مناسب نہیں۔ پھر لوگوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ تو جدائی کی باتیں کر رہے ہیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’مجھے چھوڑ دو۔ کیونکہ میں جس حالت میں ہوں وہ اس سے بہتر ہے جس کی جانب تم مجھے بلا رہے ہو۔‘‘ اور آپ نے اپنی وفات کے وقت تین باتوں کی وصیت فرمائی: ’’مشرکین کو جزیرہ عرب سے نکال دینا اور قاصدوں کو اسی طرح انعام دینا جس طرح میں دیتا تھا۔‘‘ راوی کہتا ہے کہ میں تیسری بات بھول گیا ہوں۔
مغیرہ بن عبد الرحمٰن نے جزیرہ عرب کے متعلق فرمایا کہ وہ مکہ، مدینہ، یمامہ اور یمن ہے۔
ان کے شاگرد یعقوب نے کہا: اور مقام عرج جہاں سے تہامہ شروع ہوتا ہے۔
Ibn `Abbas said, “Thursday! What (great thing) took place on Thursday!” Then he started weeping till his tears wetted the gravels of the ground . Then he said, “On Thursday the illness of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was aggravated and he said, “Fetch me writing materials so that I may have something written to you after which you will never go astray.” The people (present there) differed in this matter and people should not differ before a prophet. They said, “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) is seriously sick.’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Let me alone, as the state in which I am now, is better than what you are calling me for.” The Prophet (ﷺ) on his death-bed, gave three orders saying, “Expel the pagans from the Arabian Peninsula, respect and give gifts to the foreign delegates as you have seen me dealing with them.” I forgot the third (order)” (Ya’qub bin Muhammad said, “
I asked Al-Mughira bin `Abdur-Rahman about the Arabian Peninsula and he said, ‘It comprises Mecca, Medina, Al-Yama-ma and Yemen.”
His students Ya’qub added (also included), “And Al-Arj, the beginning of Tihama.”)
More Ahadith about having only Muslims in Arabian Peninsula
وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، – وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
“ لأُخْرِجَنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ حَتَّى لاَ أَدَعَ إِلاَّ مُسْلِمًا
It has been narrated by ‘Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (Salallaho alayhay wa alehe wabarik wa sallam) say:
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
يَا عَلِيُّ إِنْ أَنْتَ وُلِّيتَ الْأَمْرَ بَعْدِي فَأَخْرِجْ أَهْلَ نَجْرَانَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ.
It has been narrated by Sayyidna Ali (R.A) Messenger of Allah (Salallaho alayhay wa alehe wabarik wa sallam) said:
Boundary of the peninsula from this Hadith
This hadith also explains the boundaries of Arabian Peninsula which comprises the following areas:
- Makkah
- Madina
- Yamamah
- Yemen
- Tihama from the beginning
Tihama is actually the costal line next to red sea as shown in the map. Al-arj is the beginning part of Tihama.
So according to the above hadith , the Arabian peninsula boundary is the following.

Writer of famous commentary of Quran , Tafseer-e-Mazhari , Qazi Sanaullah Pani Pati has described the boundaries of Arabian peninsula in Tafseer mazhari page 158 volume 5 as:
Arabian peninsual is from the Gulf of Aden til iraq (in length) and from Jeddah and its sea coast till Syria. (Tafseer Mazhari page 158 , volume 5
Answer to those who say Arabian Peninsula is only Makkah & Madinah
For all those who say that Arabian Peninsual is Makkah and Madinah, the following hadith answers their obection.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ” لاَ يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ ” . قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَفَحَصَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الثَّلْجُ وَالْيَقِينُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ” لاَ يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ ” فَأَجْلَى يَهُودَ خَيْبَرَ . قَالَ مَالِكٌ وَقَدْ أَجْلَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَهُودَ نَجْرَانَ وَفَدَكَ فَأَمَّا يَهُودُ خَيْبَرَ فَخَرَجُوا مِنْهَا لَيْسَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الثَّمَرِ وَلاَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ شَىْءٌ وَأَمَّا يَهُودُ فَدَكَ فَكَانَ لَهُمْ نِصْفُ الثَّمَرِ وَنِصْفُ الأَرْضِ لأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ صَالَحَهُمْ عَلَى نِصْفِ الثَّمَرِ وَنِصْفِ الأَرْضِ فَأَقَامَ لَهُمْ عُمَرُ نِصْفَ الثَّمَرِ وَنِصْفَ الأَرْضِ قِيمَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَوَرِقٍ وَإِبِلٍ وَحِبَالٍ وَأَقْتَابٍ ثُمَّ أَعْطَاهُمُ الْقِيمَةَ وَأَجْلاَهُمْ مِنْهَا
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula.”
Malik said that Ibn Shihab said, ”Umar ibn al-Khattab searched for information about that until he was absolutely convinced that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had said, ‘Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula,’ and he therefore expelled the jews from Khaybar.”
Malik said, ”Umar ibn al-Khattab expelled the jews from Najran (a jewish settlement in the Yemen) and Fadak (a jewish settlement thirty miles from Madina). When the jews of Khaybar left, they did not take any fruit or land. The jews of Fadak took half the fruit and half the land, because the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had made a settlement with them for that. So Umar entrusted to them the value in gold, silver, camels, ropes and saddle bags of half the fruit and half the land, and handed the value over to them and expelled them.”
Also the following Hadith tells the same fact that Arabian Peninsula is not just Makkah and Madinah but includes Najran also which is next to Yemen.
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
يَا عَلِيُّ إِنْ أَنْتَ وُلِّيتَ الْأَمْرَ بَعْدِي فَأَخْرِجْ أَهْلَ نَجْرَانَ مِنْ جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ.
It has been narrated by Sayyidna Ali (R.A) Messenger of Allah (Salallaho alayhay wa alehe wabarik wa sallam) said:
Result from this Hadith
Najran is near Yemen border, which proves that the Arabian Peninsula does not mean only Makkah and Madinah , but it consists of the whole Arabian Peninsula.
What should we do
Consider the presence of Non Muslims in all the following countries as a forbidden act (Haram) in your heart at least.
